Hoy al despertar, después de casi tres días de no dormir luego de recibir la noticia, finalmente comprendí que ya no volveré a ver a Osvaldo bailar.

¿Como superar este momento, el más doloroso que he vivido hasta ahora? ¿cómo ayudar a mi madre a superar la situación irreparable? Que un hijo se vaya de este mundo antes que uno es lo más duro que le puede pasar a un ser humano.

A pesar del dolor, siento que la única forma posible de mantener vivo su recuerdo es a través de la preservación de su obra. Hacer una película sobre la vida de Osvaldo, pedirle a mi madre que sea la protagonista, que baile en la película y que le cuente al público sobre él, para que todos puedan conocer su historia, los momentos más importantes de su vida, esa que vivió como un hecho artístico.

Mi madre luchó durante toda su vida por ayudarnos a encontrar nuestro camino. Se sacrificó para darnos un hogar, y lograr que sus hijos fueran “alguien” en esta vida. Y lo logró. Nuestro destino como artistas se cumple gracias a ella.

Por eso, para que la obra Osvaldo, este artista fundamental para el tango, no se pierda, además de llorarlo, se puede continuar con su obra, difundiéndola.

Esta película será su obra. Él nos va a guiar en el camino. Y será nuestro ángel protector para poder realizarla. Donde quiera que esté, seguramente quiere recordarse bailando.

Cuando ayer en el cementerio recibía las condolencias y escuchaba ofrecimientos de ayuda de parte de quienes se acercaron a despedir a Osvaldo, y durante ese aplauso fuertísimo iniciado por uno de los presentes, que se extendió durante interminable minutos, me dije: este no puede ser el adiós. El artista no puede morir.

Quisiera convocar a todos aquellos que compartieron junto a Osvaldo su dedicación, su pasión por esta danza nuestra, a que me acompañen en la realización de una película documental que haga honor a su arte.
Mi experiencia me dice que la puesta en marcha de una producción es costosa, requiere tiempo, reuniones, sesiones de grabación, y en este momento yo no cuento con los recursos para encararlo sin ayuda.

El apoyo puede manifestarse de cualquier manera: aportes de documentación, fotos, material de archivo, videos, y todo aquello que pueda facilitar la concreción de esta realización, incluyendo la simple difusión de la idea.

Today upon waking, alter nearly three days without sleep after hearing the new, I finally realized that I’m not longer going to see Osvaldo dancing.

How can I overcome this situation, the most painful I have experienced so far? How could I help my mother to overcome this irreparable situation? That a son leaves this world before one does it, it’s the hardest thing that can happen to a human.

In spite of the pain, I feel that the only possible way to keep his memory alive is through the preservation of his creation. Make a film about his life, ask to my mother to be the protagonist of the film, ask her to dance in the movie and to tell the public about him, to let everybody know his history, the most important moments of his life, that he lived as an artistic fact.

My mother fought all his life for helping us to find our way. She sacrificed to give us a home and achieve that her children were “somebody” in this life. And he succeeded. Our destiny is fulfilled as artists through my mother.

Therefore, in order that the work of Osvaldo – this fundamental artist for the tango – does not get lost in the oblivion, besides crying for him, we can continue with his work, spreading it.

This film will be his work. He will guide us in the way. And he will be our guardian angel to do it. Wherever he is, surely he wants to be remembered dancing.

Yesterday in the cemetery, when I received the condolences and listened to the offers of help from whom came to bid farewell Osvaldo and during this so extremely strong applause initiated by one of the people, which spread during endless minutes, I said to myself: this can not be the last farewell. The artist can not die.

I want to call all those people who shared with Osvaldo his dedication, his passion for this dance, to join me in making a documentary film that honors his art.

My experience tells me that the accomplishment of the production is expensive, takes time, meetings, recording sessions, and now I do not have the resources to do it without help.

The support can be demonstrated anyway: contributions of documentation, photos, file material, videos, and all that could facilitate the concretion of this project, including the simple diffusion of the idea.

I hope from the authorities of the City and the Nation, from management agencies and representation of musical rights the sponsorship for this initiative. I hope the same from the usual sponsors of shows and private companies that support our national culture.
