Das Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE), welches vom Cervantes Institut im Auftrag des Spanischen Ministeriums für Bildung und Wissenschaft gestellt wird, ist ein offizieller Nachweis über das Beherrschen der spanischen Sprache in Wort und Schrift. Die Diplome werden weltweit von privaten Unternehmen, Handelskammern sowie öffentlichen und privaten Bildungsstätten anerkannt.
DELE is the official test in Spanish as a foreign language and stands for Spanish Diploma as a Foreign Language (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera). The Instituto Cervates (the official governmental organization who promotes the Spanish language) is the organization in charge of the DELE Spanish language exams although in practise the exam is set and corrected by Salamanca University.
The DELE Spanish language test is also internationally recognised as the official Spanish language exam for none native Spanish language speakers (like the TOEFL or the First Certificate test are for the English language), a nice way to study Spanish in Argentina.
